Look Out For A New Love Seat Disguised As A Bean Bag Chair

Is there one particular chair in your house that you always go to because you know you are going to like sitting there? Do you have enough room to share it with some one else that you love enough to share it with? You might have had a chair years ago that was not really a chair, but it was a comfortable place to flop down and you could throw it around anywhere you wanted to. You might have had one in your room when you were a kid or even when you went off to college. If you were a hippie with your own pad, you probably had one for sure!

Rustic Outdoor Furniture Can Last A Lifetime

Decorating outdoor spaces is becoming more popular than ever. Outdoor rooms are all the rage right now and people want those outdoor rooms to be as inviting and comfortable as the inside of their home. Whether you use a deck or a patio of some sort, the furniture you use for it must be durable and long lasting because after all, it will be outside. Even if you have a cover over your deck or patio, there will still be moisture to deal with even it it does not get rained or snowed on directly.

You might think that since redwoods are an endangered tree species they should not be used to make furniture or anything else, but actually some redwood trees are cultivated very carefully and when the forests are maintained, it is sometimes necessary to remove some trees in order to sustain others. These trees are what most outdoor redwood furniture is made from. No other type of wood holds up in the elements outdoors quite like redwood so it makes perfect furniture for outside.

You Don’t Have To Own A Cabin To Have Log Furniture

Of course, log furniture got it beginnings in the early pioneer days when there was likely a shortage of fine craftsmen that made the furniture like what was often brought over from Europe. Some American settlers were lucky enough or rich enough to be able to bring over furniture and other belongings they had over there, but many settlers arrived with nothing or little more than the clothing on their backs. They built their homes, their furniture, barns and fences out of the timber that was all around them.

When you are out in the middle of the wilds as many settlers were, they took almost everything they needed from the land. If they wanted a table, they had to build one. If they wanted a bed off of the floor, that built that too. Eventually they would have an entire house of furnishings made from what ever species of trees most common around them. Log furniture became more and more finely hand crafted as time went by and more people learned to build it.

Growing A Garden Is Something Most Should Do These Days

The cost of living isn’t getting any cheaper in the United States and of course, this includes the cost of food. Growing a garden used to be a staple of American life, but more and more people are finding themselves going back to it. Food prices are continuing to increase and many have decided to grow a garden to help fight these rising costs. Growing a garden is efficient and doesn’t require much effort in exchange for the return on the investment that you will receive when your plants reach their peak productivity.

What kind of plants that you decide to grow is just as important as where and how you grow them. Growing corn in an apartment in a container is quite unfeasible, but tomatoes, peppers, herbs, or other small plants are easy. Putting plants on your balcony is a great idea if your balcony gets sun during the day, but you have to be careful and move the ones that don’t need full sun back into the shade to keep from overexposing them. Herb gardens are great to have, but if you’re short on food, this type of garden probably shouldn’t be a priority.
